About River Journals

:: River Journals was created and is run by Rob and Tina Martin. It began as a creative outlet for our whitewater adventures, and combines Rob’s photographic and web design skills, with Tina’s prolific journal writing. Over the years we have collected so many great stories, photographs, and QuickTime VR panoramas it seemed a shame not to develop a web site for it.

:: We have been running rivers with our own raft for several years, and have introduced many good friends to the joy of whitewater rafting. In fact two of our children have become professional guides because they fell in love with rafting so much!

:: Our site was developed so you can take a virtual tour with us down the rivers of the American west. Since whitewater rafting is gaining popularity we also feel inclined to mention that this wilderness is for all to enjoy. However, unless we each take a responsible stand in making sure we do not harm the fragile river corridors, then those who follow in our footsteps will be left out of the wonderful pristine experiences we have encountered.

:: We have future plans to enhance our site to benefit both private rafters and people who are looking for a good commercial river trip to go on. We are working on enhancements that will provide extensive planning information, river information, as well as a trip-planning feature. We also have ambitious plans for using video on the site.
